Who would be a policeman? 

Who would  stand in the line of fire and receive the missiles and petrol bombs of those who had been indoctrinated from birth to see you as their enemy, their oppressor?

Who would want to protect those who criticise and mistrust your every act and action?

Who would want to defend a Nation whose leaders appoint wishy washy Politically Correct, “right on” leaders as Senior Chief Police Constables, more versed in the Human Rights legislation and in achieving Government ‘targets’ than in how to tackle real crime? 

Who would want to serve in a Force whose top senior ranks have to resign in ignominy because of allegations of corruption, whose actions and behaviour reflect on EVERY officer?

Who would want to patrol our streets, trying to protect them from a disaffected youth whose ‘feral’ ways terrorise ordinary decent people; mere children who perpetuate their delinquency because they CAN, free from fear of consequence, prosecution or retribution?

Who would want to appease and liaise with the “yoof” workers, “Community leaders” and social commentators; the criminals APOLOGISTS who assert that it is all the fault of the Government, the middle classes, Council policies and the police themselves, thus turning the protagonists into VICTIMS?

Who would want to have to stop and search those whose contemporaries and peers carry guns and knives, who kill and maim each other with alarming regularity, yet who cite such searches as the cause of their “anger” and violence? 

Who would want to protect communities who bay for their blood when they over react and over exert in the course of their duties, yet bay for their blood when they fail to employ similar ‘strong arm’ tactics whilst defending THEM?

Who would want to police a people who profess to be disadvantaged and underprivileged, yet who display all the trappings of consumerism and material wealth?

Who would want to look in the eyes of the old woman whose business and home has been destroyed or stolen on a whim; a livelihood and property achieved through a lifetime of effort and hard work, crushed or taken by those who believe they have a RIGHT to instant materialism?

Who would want to look in the eyes of the old man who had served his King and Country in the belief that he was fighting for the freedoms of people who would never have to watch their streets burn again?

Who would be a policeman?

 "We are liaising with the Indian authorities over the incident and await the results of the DNA test." Clarence Mitchell.

 "This incident is not in my knowledge and I have not sent any request to anyone for this. We have not taken any swabs for DNA testing. We have not even been approached for any help by anyone in this case. If anyone wants our help, we are willing to help but as of now, we have not been approached. Madeleine McCann and the Kingdom of Clarence

Given that I am currently enjoying something of a reputation as having a big, fat, scurrilous mouth, (possibly true), and that I never know when to keep it closed, (ALSO possibly true); I though I would confound my detractors and keep it short and sweet!

Am I alone in thinking how utterly preposterous and somewhat disturbing it is, that at LEAST 25 Media outlets, Newspapers and BROADCASTERS, are currently reporting about a little girl having been found in INDIA that resembles Madeleine McCann and that the McCanns are awaiting the results of the DNA test; whilst at the same time, the police and authorities in the LEH province of India, the scene of this furore, are all utterly bemused and baffled, asking questions as to what everyone is going on about as they have no KNOWLEDGE of ANY girl having been found OR of any DNA tests!!!

Clarence Mitchell has made about 4 statements concerning this latest "sighting", ALL of which are nonsensical and actually CONTRADICT each other.

Of course, there are MANY people who DO follow this case with open hearts, hoping upon all hope that it IS the little girl, and they will continue to pray and hope for Madeleine's safe return.

They will also lambast and vilify the PRESS and Media who report such "sightings" and developments for raising false hope.

Wheras, if they examined such 'reports' and continued widespread coverage with a little more scrutiny and impartiality, they would arrive at the same, logical conclusion.

That the people with whom they hold in so much reverence, adulation and close affection, (Team McCann), are the ones actualy responsible for the stream of fabricated stories, hoax's and fake sightings; that the British PRESS and their respective editors are their servile minions;

And that Clarence Mitchell is their Master!

Madeleine McCann- AMAZON changes its mind on CENSORSHIP

Pat Brown is a renowned and well known American Criminal profiler who, amongst other tasks, offers pro bono profiling and training for Law enforcement agencies. 

Amongst her many publications, a few weeks back, she launched 'The Profile of the Disappearance of Madeleine McCann'.

This was, effectively, an accurate analysis of all the evidence available in the case, freely available within the public domain, combined with her own theories regarding what might have happened to Madeleine, based on her professional experience and expertise.

The publication, available in KINDLE format and available on AMAZON, was a great success.

Up until yesterday.

For that is when Amazon removed the publication from sale from its websites. 

There is NO official explanation, thus far, from Amazon regarding its actions. In response to emails sent by customers, querying the publications removal, it states:-

“Occasionally books are removed from the Kindle Store for various reasons. We don't have any details about why this particular book may have been removed. Thank you for your interest in Kindle.”

However, in an interview on an American online radio broadcast with Levi Page, Pat states that she was informed by Amazon that they had received a-

 “notice of defamation from Carter-Ruck solicitors claiming that the book contains defamatory statements regarding their clients Kate and Gerry McCann”

In an attempt to clarify this rather bizarre turn of events I spoke to Amazon’s Press Office, (UK), where a nice lady called Laura Bonny promised that she would look into the matter, subject to receipt of an official Media e-mail request.

I forwarded, the following-

"I am seeking to ascertain the reasons for the cessation of the selling of the 'Kindle' Book, by Pat Brown, ‘The Profile of the Disappearance of Madeleine McCann’.

My understanding is that this publication was on sale on all Amazon outlets for several weeks. Can you please confirm for me whether its removal from sale from your sites was as the result of LEGAL actions undertaken and are you in a position to confirm for me who undertook such actions?

Can you also confirm for me whether or not the publication in question has been the subject of any complaints relating to its title or its contents?

Can you confirm whether Amazon has been contacted by either Kate or Gerry McCann, or by individuals or organisations acting on their behalf in relation to the publication or its contents?"

30 hours later, with no response, I spoke with their Press Office again, this time another nice young lady called Sophie who explained that she WAS aware of the furore surrounding the title, but that they, (Amazon UK), were awaiting notification and directions from their AMERICAN Head Office, regarding statements, but that she assured me she WOULD respond to my questions in time.

Of course, irrespective of what Amazon says or does NOT say regarding its removal of a title on the instructions of the McCanns or their representatives, WITHOUT the  benefit of any actual LEGAL hearing or proven ACTION, I shall be reminding them of ANOTHER, rather more vociferous statement issued by Amazon in recent times:-

"Amazon believes it is CENSORSHIP not to sell certain books simply because we or others believe their message is objectionable............. we do support the right of every individual to make their own purchasing decisions."

This astonishing stance was issued in defence of Amazon’s INSISTENCE on allowing the sale on its websites of a rather unpleasant publication titled ‘The Pedophile’s Guide to Love and Pleasure’, subtitled ‘A Child-Lover's Code of Conduct’.

That publication WAS eventually removed after a HUGE storm of protest and condemnation, much of it from children’s charities.

It remains to be seen whether Pat Brown is successful in re-instating her publication, or whether she joins the INCREASINGLY long list of people silenced/sued/threatened/sanctioned as a result of the McCanns and their overwhelmingly exorbitant Lawyers, whose never ending fees must SURELY be greater than the Millions amassed through public donations and other fund-raising ventures.

As for AMAZON itself, however, (the “multinational electronic commerce company”),  it poses a rather more disturbing predicament. 

One where it is apparently happy to sell material CLEARLY and unequivocally relating to the sexual abuse of children, and the purported PLEASURE that such an activity entails, whilst at the same time censoring a publication that LEGITIMATELY calls into question the ‘OFFICIAL’ version of events relating to the disappearance of a 3 year old girl, as alleged and insisted upon by Kate and Gerry McCann, their never ending entourage of supporters, backers, PR Moguls and Newspaper editors, and their powerful lawyers.

As Abbott Joseph Liebling once said:-

Freedom of the press is guaranteed only to those who own one.

The McCanns Strength & Determination

“The strength and determination you have shown throughout is remarkable."

These were the words that the Prime Minister, David “Call me Dave” Cameron reserved for Kate and Gerry McCann after they had apparently sent him a LETTER, imploring his personal intervention in ordering a review of the case involving their missing daughter.

Those words could equally have been applicable to any number of people who make up what has come to be dis-affectionately known as 'Team McCann', whose support and dedication appear limitless.

Certainly, the “strength and determination” of Brian Kennedy, whose elaborate intervention and finances have perpetuated Team McCanns efforts is “remarkable” indeed. Not only has the Multi-Millionaire financed MANY of the McCann exploits over the past few years, (and indeed, continues to DO so); but he has frequently and quite systematically taken it upon himself to interfere in many witnesses to the Madeleine McCann case, including Robert Murat, at a time when he was an official Arguido, to a degree where a number of the witnesses concerned expressed that they were effectively being harassed.

Remarkable determination also, in consistently donating hundreds and hundreds of THOUSANDS of Pounds to an assortment of dubious “Detective Agencies”, including the infamous Metodo 3 whose operatives were flown all over the world in pursuing fake and fabricated sightings and tales of ‘Kidnap to order’ gangs in the mountain ranges of Morocco, to ‘paedophile rings’ in Saudi Arabia.

At least Kevin Halligen, awaiting trial for a $2 Million Dollar fraud in the US, elected NOT to bow down to the Dictats of Kennedy,  ignoring his convoluted instructions to fabricate and create, preferring to merely drink away the estimated £500,000 PLUS that HE pocketed.

“Remarkable strength and determination” are what one would find etched through the very core of spinner extraordinaire Clarence Mitchell, like the shaky lettering in Seaside rock candy, were one to break him in two!

Here is a man who has made a most successful career moulding and controlling the populations’ thoughts and notions, through his guise at the “Media Monitoring Unit”; a man so malleable and changeable, so utterly devoid of any belief, principle of moral that he has been a most effective Electioneer for both the Labour Party AND THE CONSERVATIVES!!

Whatever the message, Clarence is your man to spread it. (As long as the price is right).

But the “Strength and Determination” prize for the Decade must surely be awarded to that irascible old Mogul, Rupert Murdoch. For it merely only needed a single page in his most popular UK organ, the ‘Sun’, highlighting the ‘Letter’ from the McCanns imploring the Prime Minister for help, (Gerry McCann thoughtfully commenting that, seeing as Cameron had suffered anguish over the death of his six-year-old son Ivan in 2009,: ‘He will understand what we’ve gone through.”),

then the mighty forces of the British Government, its Metropolitan Police and its Home Office were mobilised, promising to “review” the whole evidence in the case.

Or, as “Britain’s Soaraway ‘SUN’”puts it:

“Yard will Hunt Missing Clues”.

If the ‘YARD’ proves anywhere near as strong and determined, they shouldn’t have too far to look for them. Then again, given that the PORTUGUESE are, as yet, stating that they have NOT been approached by the British authorities in the matter, then perhaps they’ll rather need more than strength and determination to come up with anything.

For me, I prefer to afford the words, “Strength and Determination” to the decent people of Portugal. The people whose lives, jobs and industries have been blighted because of continual derogating by the British Media.

“Sardine Munchers” and “Country Bumpkins” were just TWO popular epithets coined by “Fleet Street’s finest” to vilify, firstly the Portuguese police, their authorities, their Government and finally their people.

Yet “Strength and Determination” were exactly what was shown by the many Portuguese locals who worked through the WHOLE of that summer night, and BEYOND, in 2007, on their hands and knees sifting for clues as to the whereabouts of a missing girl. People who did so instead of returning home to their families, or continuing with their own work and lives.

The same people, along with the police, at whom Kate McCann expresses anger and frustration at in her “truthful” book, for not helping to look for Madeleine.

“I simply cannot imagine the pain you must have experienced.................”

That was the OTHER part of the quotation, directed at the McCanns by David Cameron.

If I might take something of a liberty, I’d like to reserve THAT sentiment for the estimated 110 families whose children have been reported as officially missing since 2007, whose “Strength and Determination” have indeed prevailed, in spite of NOT enjoying close to a £3 million budget to help find them, along with a whole gamut of multi-millionaire businessmen and celebrities, the entire British Media industry AND, it would appear, the undivided attention of Her Majesty's Government.

Happy Birthday Madeleine McCann

It remains to be seen whether or not the British Government performs yet another U turn on their decision to fund the Metropolitan Police’s New Scotland Yard “review” of the evidence relating to the case of the missing girl, Madeleine McCann.

David, “call me Dave” Cameron has just announced that he is asking the Met’s finest to “bring their expertise to the case”. Or as Britain’s finest journo’s opine:

”Scotland Yard Hunt’s for Maddie” and

“Yard to try and bring Maddie back”.

As I currently write this, I understand that there are huge reservations and not an inconsiderable amount of discomfort amongst certain Senior Officers about this proposal. Ostensibly, because it means tying up much needed resources and manpower on what is, effectively, a VERY cold case.

I would also suggest that quite a few of those reservations are held by bemused officers who will also be wondering how on earth such a review can possibly take place, given that it is going to require MORE than their “expertise” in negotiating certain ‘aspects’ of the case.

Aspects that have categorically NO place in Team McCann’s agenda.

Aspects that unequivocally NEVER get mentioned in the British Press, nor are ever uttered from the mouths of its senior Media figures.

Aspects that have no place in the sentiments or thoughts of the wealthy business figures who have bankrolled many of the McCanns exploits and sojourns around the world in their quest to “find” Madeleine.

Aspects that have probably never even crossed the sycophantic leanings of the innumerable celebrities, pop stars, writers, TV presenters and public figures who have tied their ribbon on the Madeleine McCann cause.

Those aspects being the Portuguese aspects.

For, if there IS to be a review, then it cannot possibly take place without incorporating the Portuguese Police findings.

And as much as Team McCann and the British Press, (and clearly to a degree, the British AUTHORITIES), like to assert that the Portuguese closed the case by concluding that the McCanns, (along with Robert Murat), were CLEARED of any involvement in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, a thorough scrutiny of that final report reveals a rather different picture.

For the report clearly notes a number of issues which are worthy of mention and indeed, further evaluation. In fact, as I have pointed out previously, I often wonder if in fact, whether the Press or the Authorities have actually read the report at all, or have in fact read a DIFFERENT report.

From day one, this whole case has been beset with innuendo, supposition, conjecture, opinion, and theory, some of which is definitely conspiratorial. But the Police, IF they carry out a review, are going to have to address and explain away some FACTS that the McCanns and their supporters are going to find rather unpalatable.

Like the FACT that the ONLY, tangible evidence that Madeleine McCann was ever abducted originates from Jane Tanner.

And if they are going to try and validate and support Ms. Tanner as a credible witness, then they are going to have to try and explain not only WHICH of the MANY differing eyewitness accounts she and Team McCann assert to be genuine ARE, in fact, genuine:- (egg man, bundle man, spotty man, Robert Murat, hippy-man, paedo-man, FEMALE-man, god-knows –who- else –man), but also explain why ALL of the others are NOT.

More importantly, (and I don’t profess to be a Scotland Yard ‘expert’), but if one is to conclude that Tanner is LYING, (and she clearly is unless she wishes to insist that ALL of her estimated 9 or 10 different descriptions are correct); then one would have to conclude that the evidence for an abduction is, NONE.

A Scotland Yard man of merit would then have to further read the report, together with all the Portuguese reports, statements, documents and contemporaneous notes. And he would have to explain away the clear “inconsistencies” in the witness statements made by the McCanns and their Tapas friends, as clearly pointed out in the report that Team McCann asserts to be the one that puts them in the clear. Inconsistencies surrounding their movements, their observations, their positions at any given time, what they witnessed, what they saw.

In order to clear this inextricable confusion and mess up, perhaps the Yard’s “expertise” can coerce the McCanns and their friends to undertake the essential reconstruction that the Portuguese could NOT persuade them to take.

Another ASPECT that the Yard are going to have to contend with are the use of Enhanced Victim Recovery Dogs. Eddie & Keela’s findings in the McCann apartment and their vehicle and on many of the personal possessions of the McCanns are well documented.

It is a very simple matter for Clarence Mitchell and the McCanns to glibly refute their findings, explaining away their “unreliability” and inadmissibility as evidence by pointing to a case in the United States where such evidence was successfully challenged by a top US Lawyer.

Bit tricky to do the same thing when such dogs have made well documented, irrefutably PROVEN contributions to many Scotland Yard cases, not to mention hundreds of OTHER Constabularies all over the UK and elsewhere Worldwide.

Best NOT ask the dogs, eh Gerry?

Equally, perhaps the Yard can procure those DNA samples that were initially reported as being a “match” to Madeleine McCann, and explain why eventually, the FSS at Birmingham, (a department now facing closure) and who have for many years been Universally acknowledged as being “the BEST in the world”, eventually decided, (after much delay and confusion), that the material in fact, was “not identified to pertaining to anyone specific”.

Perhaps the man at the Yard can exercise his expertise and cast some light on that blue holdall that Martin Brunt NEVER mentions anymore.

No! I jest a little.

What I REALLY want the Met’s finest to do is ask Kate McCann exactly WHAT it was that was shown to Kate at her interview. As the final report clearly states:

“Kate Healy was not immediately made an arguida, but merely interviewed voluntarily as a witness. Only after her interview was she made an arguida, that is, after she was confronted with concrete facts that might lead to her incrimination”

 “...concrete facts that might lead to her incrimination” ???

Concrete FACTS, Kate? Gerry? Mr. Mitchell? It can’t be brushed off as “scurrilous, unhelpful speculation” by those bungling Porto Plod. It’s right there. In black and white. In the report.

The report that Team McCann so vehemently wave in the faces of anyone who dares to doubt their version of events. You can’t pick and choose the good bits, Clarence, and dismiss the rest as hogwash.

I don’t personally care about the McCanns. I honestly don’t know what they did or didn’t do. In the great scope of things, it matters little.

I don’t even admonish or criticise them for systematically leaving their children unattended, an act that would obviously contribute to Madeleine’s disappearance, were an abduction genuine.

Why not? Because I believe that the fact that their children were alone has absolutely NOTHING to do with Madeleine being missing.

I’d so love for Madeleine McCann to walk home tomorrow; to confound the world and be found, safe and well. But that can’t surely happen. Because if we have to hold on to some vestige of common sense and sanity in this case, then we have to accept the findings of those dogs, no matter what Kate says. (Actually, Kate you’re right. The dogs DID want to please their handler, Martin Grime. Pleasing him is exactly the premise on which they function. For which they get a reward and a pat on the head. Pleasing their handler is ALL they know. That, and the scent of cadaverine or blood).

We HAVE to give serious consideration to the truth that Madeleine died in Portugal, four summers ago. We have to do so, because the Portuguese investigated and believe so. It’s clearly documented in their reports, even if that ‘final report’ doesn’t quite specify so, but merely proffers it.

Only the British Media refer to the Policia Judiciaria as “bungling”, “inept”, “Porto plod” and “sardine munchers”. Prior to this case they were considered globally, rather like our OWN finest Police Force, as being amongst the best in the world.

We also have to consider it so because it has been documented that Leicestershire Police ALSO advised of their belief that Madeleine died in Portugal.

I haven’t yet seen any tabloid headlines calling THEM useless. Not yet, anyway.

Kate’s book will, without a doubt, throw up HUNDREDS of yet MORE inconsistencies and contradictions. Not contradicting the Portuguese Police or other observers, but contradicting herself. When you tell so many untruths, it’s so hard to remember what you said in the first place.

Of course, it’s entirely possible that this “review” will never take place at all. At least, not in the form that it should.

Because now, I believe the case of Madeleine McCann to be at a most crucial crossroads. I believe that the outcome of this “review”will either decide that a historically unprecedented number of people are going to be subjected to some accusatory probing and be eternally embarrassed, including at least ONE ex- Prime Minister, by virtue of the Yard finding that the McCanns DO have something to hide, as purported by the Portuguese; OR.

OR.

The Government cut the Portuguese out of the “review” all together, meaning that the Britain’s finest Police Force will have to find in accordance with what they believe themselves. Or, rather, what they are told to believe.

And this case will continue to be a tragedy for us, one and all.

What KATY did next...........

I would hesitate to assert that I actually ‘enjoy’ a reputation of being a vociferous critic of Kate and Gerry McCann.


I have always found it most amusing and occasionally frustrating, (and still do) that, given that I consider myself a sometime serious investigative journalist of quite a few proud achievements over an 18 year period, that my moniker should only ever be associated with my musings over and a video relating to an, (as yet), unsolved and unfathomable missing child case.


When I consider the multitudinous blogs and websites that vilify and subject the McCann’s to all kinds of conjecture and curious conspiracy theories, I am forever surprised at the severity of the responses, abuse and messages that find their way into my mailbox. After all, I have NEVER specifically accused them of anything.


I have never, for instance, lambasted them for leaving their children unattended, which they DID, certainly to a much greater degree than they would have us believe, (although I always found it odd why they didn’t accept the available night-time babysitting services, especially given that their 3 children spent the majority of their holiday daytime in the day care nursery).


Nor have I ever really criticised the rather chilling and clinical formation of the ‘Look for Madeleine’ project, especially so SOON after the little girl’s disappearance; basically a slickly rolled out Limited Company designed to create money and, erm....., create money.


No. My criticisms and barbed comments have generally been reserved for their toadying supporters, the ‘Z’ list, (and occasional ‘A’ list) celebrities who managed to think they could enhance their profile by aligning themselves to the McCann’s cause celebre.


I will admit to having frequently given special mention of course, to the British PRESS, whose Editorial policy is very clearly being dictated to them by way of a combination of bullying, back-scratching and financial incentives. (Not to mention the THREATS by some of the big companies to refrain from spending any more of their advertising budget with them, as has been pointed out to me by a former Senior News Editor).

I may also have lambasted certain factions of the previous ‘Nu Labour’ administration, (including the Premier Gordon Brown) who, on occasions, apportioned more time intervening, arranging World leader meetings and Papal visits for them and making personal telephone calls to them than the time spent for some of the duties they were elected to undertake!.

It is true, also, I have to admit that I might have reserved a harsh word or two for the utterly unique, unenviable and one time ubiquitous Clarence Mitchell.

Whoever decided that Mr. Mitchell would be the best spokesperson and general representative for a couple at one time facing serious criminal charges is a mystery to me all on its own.

For here is a man whose very raison d’être is to fabricate, concoct and invent; a man whose most prolific previous appointment was to basically SPY on the British population by way of monitoring their opinions, thoughts and deeds in his role as the Head of the Central Office of Information’s ‘Media Monitoring Unit’.

His role? To basically ‘eavesdrop’ and gauge public opinion, compare it to what the Government’s desired views were/are and to control and influence that opinion towards the Government’s way of thinking.
OR, as the official description states:

“The Central Office of Information (COI) is the Government's centre of excellence for marketing and communications. Since 1946 we have worked in partnership with government departments and the public sector to drive best practice and cost effectiveness in the way citizens are informed, engaged and influenced about issues that affect their lives – from health and education to benefits, rights and welfare”.

Yes. Quite. I prefer my description.


But Clarence is not a man who lives and works by any convictions, morals, principles, general beliefs or LOYALTIES. Clarence is a man for HIRE. For ANY cause, as long as the price is right.

It is telling, is it not, that the man, who was instrumental in formulating the Nu Labour marketing and communications as head of their ‘Media Monitoring’, should subsequently work for the , erm...CONSERVATIVES during their last Election campaign as erm.......Head of Media Monitoring?!

Like a mad scientist from a James Bond movie, Clarence is basically a man who is precision skilled in snooping on what a Nation thinks, controlling the information that leads them to think that way, then MODERATING said information in order to make them think in another way!

It is a sure FACT that the huge plethora of stories that appear in virtually every British publication, relating to Madeleine McCann, have either been penned by, or certainly OK’d, by Clarence Mitchell.

Every Maddie “sighting”, persistent theory of abduction, every tale of evil paedophile rings in far off lands; every detective, private investigator, super-sleuth and other assorted odd witnesses who appear in the press with the latest theory/evidence/experience about where Madeleine was, is or could be, would have received the Clarence seal of approval.

If you were to ask me 5 years ago whether I thought that any GROUP,( let alone an individual), would or COULD, ever be powerful or influential enough to curtail a globally popular Internet FORUM, to basically close it down, then I would have laughed.

Yet that is exactly what Clarence Mitchell did, at a stroke.

The MGM Mirror Group’s popular Forum, relating to Madeleine McCann, and subscribed to by an estimated several hundred thousand readers, disappeared without a trace and without warning, save for a brief, single line explanation about ‘abuse' issues.

At the time of its closing, I was told by a Mirror contributing journalist close to the Editor that officially the HOME Office had exerted pressure, but that it was, indeed, Mr. Mitchell who had been the successful applicant. (Mitchell has subsequently confirmed his role in closing down the Forum).

Such is the power and influence that the man exerts.

Here is a man who hangs his coat on any major news-line that comes along, enabling him to spread his own agenda. Any other poor soul unfortunate enough to suffer a missing or MURDERED child, (or missing/murdered person of ANY age), is sure to have their publicity hijacked by the “thoughts and prayers” of Kate and Gerry.

Any tale of people trafficking or child sex exploitation anywhere in the world is sure to be met with the assurance from Clarence that “Kate and Gerry are keeping an eye on developments”, intoning that such developments might lead them to Madeleine.

Not to worry if there aren’t any sufficiently reported tragedies taking place; Clarence will find another angle.

The ongoing saga of the Cell ‘phone Voice Mail ‘bugging’ escapades by the News of the World inspired our man! Despite there been absolutely no evidence to support it, and the fact that the Scotland Yard investigation has revealed nothing to validate it, Clarence is adamant that his Mobile Phone was bugged!

By whom and for what purpose he doesn’t exactly make clear, but it does give him the opportunity to spread several column inches about his clients across every journal that will listen.

And, maddeningly, they all love to listen to Clarence.

But I digress.

I have NEVER judged them, per se. Never passed comment on their general behavior, their demeanor, their curious and sometimes strange responses and reactions to questions posed to them.

I have never assumed anything untoward in their lack of genuine emotion, nor opined as to why Kate behaved the way that she did when being made an official Arguido, (not just the unanswered questions, but also certain irregularities relating to members of MI5 who were in attendance, according to Portuguese Intelligence officers).

OK, I DID make a comment about how lacking in conviction they made themselves look when they made an extensive Press Conference where the McCanns stated that they “would NOT leave Portugal without Madeleine”, 24 hours before being made official Arguidos and around 60 hours before, erm...........leaving Portugal without Madeleine.

But I have NEVER criticised or seriously questioned a specific act that either Kate or Gerry have undertaken.

Until now.


Claudia Lawrence, a 35 year old British woman, was last seen in March of 2009. The pain and trauma relating to her absence and to the uncertainty of her whereabouts must surely be immense for those who know her and to all whom Claudia means something.

Her fate is unknown.

On Sunday 27th February, a candle-lit vigil marking Claudia’s 37th Birthday was held at York Minster, presided over by the Archbishop of York.

Of course, it is true that in his local newspaper, Peter Lawrence, Claudia’s father, was reported as saying that he was “keen that other people who have had a relative or loved one go missing will attend the vigil – there is an open invitation.”

However, given that there is absolutely nothing, ostensibly, linking Madeleine McCann to Claudia Lawrence over and above the MANY thousands of other missing persons in the UK, a CYNICAL bastard might suggest that such an event merely presents a golden opportunity for Kate McCann to be photographed lighting a candle, pictured in every newspaper covering the event.

But such a vile publicity stunt would surely be way beyond the realms of what even Clarence and the McCanns would deem to be decency.

It would surely be beyond the limits of even the British Press, to allow such a poignant and sad vigil to be upstaged by using such a photo opportunity. It would never happen.

Right?
